I'm working with joomla 3 and a new website. I would like to allow registered users to have the ability to create articles on the front end. They will be simple with an image and text, and I realize that I can set many fields to allow them to create searchable features such as city, sport, age group, etc.

My question is can I have them select a category that is established. The primary search function will be the city so I will have all cities set up as a joomla category. In addition to selecting their city (category), I want to include a selection for their specific sport, and their age group, etc.

It looks like form 2 content can do all of these things, however, I want to ask before I buy.

Thank you very much!

Hi Davis,

Yes, I think it all seems clear and that's exactly what Form2Content can do. You can setup a category called "cities" with all the city naems as sub-categories. Users can than select a city in th esubmission form if you set the default to the main category with permission to select below.

Please note. Think about the Joomla navigation before setup. F2C will create the Joomla article in the category selected. If you want to create navigation based on city that's fine but maybe you want another structure. In which case you need to use different category names (corresponding with the navigation) and setup a single select field for the city.

Hope this helps.

Please read the F2C documentation before asking questions! Thank you if you've done so ;)
