I have a Joomla 2.5 website with F2C PRO 4.6.0 with 1625 articles. We are migrating this website to a new Joomla 3.6.5 website with F2C 6.15.0. How can I migrate the 4.6.0 data to the new website?

We already successfully migrated the categories and articles to the new Joomls 3.6.5 website and all categories and articles have the same ID as in the 2.5 website.

I tried exporting the F2C database tables from the 2.5 website and import these into the new 3.6.5 website and then installed F2C 6.15.0. But then I lost my data, so no luck there.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Hi René,

After upgrading Joomla from 2.5 to 3.x simply run the F2C installer for Joomla 3.x .... that's it :)

About ID syncing there can be two scenarios.

1) Everything is identical and when you refresh F2C froms the corresponding Joomla articles get updates.
2) They are no longer in sync. Not a problem. Delete all Joomla articles created by Form2Content and refresh the F2C forms.... new Joomla articles will be created.

Hope this helps!

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. We did NOT upgrade the existing 2.5 website to Joomla 3.6.5.
We are creating a NEW 3.6.5 website next to the existing 2.5 website.
Via SP Transfer we migrated all menus, categories and articles from the 2.5 website to the new 3.6.5 website.

How can I migrate F2C from the 2.5 website to the new 3.6.5 website. As I wrote, I transferred the F2C database tables from the 2.5 database to the 3.6.5 database and then installed F2C. Then all my F2C database tables were emptied.

Rene

Aha, no I did't get that ;)

I would still upgrade a copy of the old website as described above. That way you have the new database structure for F2C all correct. Now install a clean F2C version with no demo data on your final website and replace the database tables. I believe that should do the trick. If not I will have to ask Julien what he would suggest.

Patrick
