Hi there !
How can I rename uploaded image files ?
By default images saves with original names. It's ok If your image name is in english. But If your image name in other language, filename is empty. Only extension.

How to save images with NOT like "filename", but "md5(filename)", like in K2 ?

Hi Alexx,

We don't have such a rename option in the component.
We preserve the original name as much as possible, but we will make the name 'Joomla safe' which means that some characters get stripped out.

Can you give me an example of a filename that becomes empty?

It is filename with any russian letters.
If file named like "photo001.jpg", new name will be the same.
If filename "фото001.jpg" - only "001.jpg" will stay.
If filename "фотография.jpg" - will be lost anything but ".jpg"
