F2C Pro 6.7.0
Joomla! 3.3.6

In Edit Content Type > Category Selection.

I need to set those preferences different for different access levels. I basically have regular users (registered), editors (submit articles/docs), and publishers (review submissions and publish everything).

So, I need submission to go into a default category (can't choose from front end), and publishers have access to choose which category from the front end.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi River,

Make different menu items per user group and set the correct permissions at F2C Content Type level (ACL). You will need to hide the publising options in the article submission form but can show them for the different user groups via the menu parameters in the front-end article manager.
Don't forget to also set "show all" articles for the reviewers so they get to see articles from other users.

Patrick

So, in Components > F2C Pro > Content Type Manager > Awaiting Review > Category Selection --- I've selected to show in front end and have set default category to Awaiting Review. I need submission view not able to change this option, but have moderator view able to re-select from any of the categories.

I have submissions group set to article submission menu item and moderators group set to article manager menu item. I think I'm a little confused as to where to hide publishing options for for submission view but showing them AND category selection for moderator view.

Thanks.

First happy new year!

Sorry for the later reply, we where a bit swamped by posts from a fellow forum user and of course the holidays.

You have complicated the issue by wanting the moderator to also change the category in the front-end. This isn't possible since we can only set to show/hide the option and not make it ACL dependent.

So assuming your user can submit to the correct category but NOT publish you can set publishing default to unpublished in the content type configuration. For that usergroup you set create allowed but publising not (via ACL). You can hide the publishing options via the F2C
content type configuration.

Create a second menu item to the front-end article manager for your moderators. In it you can use the menu parameter "show publising" so that moderators can publish after checking. PS, make sure their ACL rights are correct.

Regards,
Patrick
