Hello,

I need your help for an issue that I have encountered while testing the Form2Content Lite Version 5.6.0 installed on the Joomla version 3.9.0 on a mobile device with the Helium Template based on Gentry 5.

You see, it's about displaying of the Create New Article, Copy, Change etc. buttons in the Front-End Article Submission Form. They display and work perfectly on the Front End on a desktop PC, but fail to do so on the Front End on a smartphone.
I've cheked the user permissions - they're obviously fine. The Registered users can Create, Delete, Edit and Edit Own as they should be.
I've also tried to switch back to the system Protostar template - the issue still persists on the mobile device.

Can you please help to solve this issue?

Best wishes,

Pavel Mozgovoy

Hi Pavel,

I think this has to do with responsive behavior. I just did a quick test. I always use protostar for my front-end management area as it's default Joomla and gives the user a sense of being in the "management area".
In the protostar menu module I add the nav-pills class for horizontal layout.

In mobile view I get a hamburger menu for my main (template) navigation and my F2C buttons show. Please see attachment. I do realise I am using F2C Pro but that shouldn't make a difference.

Can you test and send me a print screen if it doesn't work? PS O prefer to get it to work in Protostar first before making overrides for Gantry.

Regards,
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

but how can I test it if you haven't mentioned which file(s) of the template should be edited with what code that you are using?
I would gladly purchase the Pro version if I knew for sure that this problem would not be in it.
Can you please tell me what exactly should be done in terms of the code, so that I could test it on the mobile device?

And what about Gantry?
My working project already uses Gantry 5, it loads really fast, much faster than the Protostar, especially on mobile devices, so ideally I wouldn't want to change this template only because of one component.

Can you also provide me with the Documentation link on the template overrides to make it work with Form2Content - if any, or it is only possible with the Pro Version? I hope you understand my concerns

Best wishes,
Pavel

https://documentation.form2content.com/f2c-front-end/create-a-template-override-for-the-front-end-article-manager

First check that there are no other issues. That's why I refer to Protostar. Next you can add an override for the submission form, as per documentation.

You can also assign templates to menu items so you don need to change your whole website.
Please read the F2C documentation before asking questions! Thank you if you've done so ;)

Not much help probably, but I use Gantry 5 with the Hydrogen theme on Joomla 3.9.1 and Form2Content Pro version 6.16.0.

On my website, the buttons on the Front-End Article Submission Form are shown on a smartphone and work fine.

On a smartphone you can choose to show the desktopsite view. It is an item in the menu in the upper righthand corner. Maybe it will help to find the cause of the problem.
