Hi Tom,

For many reasons it's not possible to search within two different content types at the same time (i.e. from one search module), sorry.

Solution is to combine the two. Using templating you can have completely different layouts per category/product type or whatever.

Patrick

It is not possible to search within two content types from within one search module.
If you create one content type (instead of two) there are options to create different layouts for your Joomla articles. This might be a solution depending on your situation and what you want to accomplish.

Hi,

changing template in form is not option in this situation. So what to do now with KML and Search component? :D
This Search should be more flexible.

Thank you for your time.

This Search should be more flexible.

F2C Search follows Joomla ACL. Each Content Type can have different permissions and different fields to search by. Arguing that F2C Search should manage to combine these settings because the created Joomla articles happen to be saved in the same category is somewhat simplified.

Multiple KML feeds can be loaded on Google Maps so I don't see a problem there...

Hi,

multiple KML feeds works ok.
Is Placemarker template that shows above the marker after click on marker when turn yes Use template for placemarker generation? Because nothing change, just article title without link. I found link for example on this forum.
What is Description template?

I assume that Placemarker template and Description template are the same smarty template whitch we use for basic article template view.

I still dont understand how should f2c Search
combine these settings
to show result from same category? With Database Lookup field?

Thanks.

Tom

Hi Tom,

1) F2C Search is linked to 1 content type. You can search within categories if the articles created within come from the same F2C content type.

2) The placemarker template is for the popup on the map, also known as the marker description. Form2Content KML marker templates do nothing to the Joomla articles that the marker links to.

Please start clean forum post for new questions!!

Hi,

I will be careful about clean post.

I been planing for months this F2C Search upgrade of web when time comes and didnt know or read anywhere that it can't work with two content type. When I discover and start using F2C component I forget about JED.... but today I am searching for search module to replace F2C Search.

Is this will be solved or possible in the future? Time for now is not problem.

Thanks.

Tom
