F2C version 5.6.0
Joomla 3.9.1

Hi, I have come across the following issue and am wondering if you could point me in the correct direction .

I have installed F2C lite and set it up correctly, I think!
Everything works as it should, from the admin I can make articles and they show up in the blog as expected with correct formatting etc.
When I crate a menu item to the F2C article manager, it renders properly on the front end.
However, when I click on the 'new' article button the browser responds with an error.

This page isn’t working forte.expert redirected you too many times.

ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

I have cleared the cookies as suggested and tried in 3 different browsers, but still the same.

I search for this error via google and the next suggestion was to check the syntax of my htaccess file. which seems ok.

So, I wonder if it something to do with F2C?

Do you have any ideas as to what is going wrong?

Regards, Brendan

Hello,

Here's the update on how this issue was resolved:

At first there was the Route66 component/plug-in that was causing routing issues. After disabling this plug-in, the page in the front displayed, but still with no fields and a javascript error.

In the menu-item configuration no Content Type was selected (it was set to Show all Content Types). After selecting a Content Type for the menu-item, the page worked.

best,
Julien

Hi Brendan,

Thanks for the update. Did you add any custom fields to your F2C form? Have you checked your permissions? Are there any articles? Did you add the demo content?

Even with the test first get it to work in back-end before trying front-end ;)

PS just send you a link to my working test...

Regards,
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
To clarify,

Did you add any custom fields to your F2C form? ... No, it is exactly as you supplied it in the install package.

Have you checked your permissions? ... Yes, public is set to allow create/edit own/edit state own, but not delete own, as there was no option for this (just delete everyones work).

Are there any articles? ... There a 2 unpublished that came with the install package.

Did you add the demo content? .... Yes

Even with the test first get it to work in back-end before trying front-end ;) .... I tested the localhost install. A new article is created via the backend, but the errors will not allow an article to be created on the front end.

PS just send you a link to my working test... ..... :( It's not fair!

I'll upload my copy and send you a link so you can see first hand.

regards, Brendan.

I'll ask Julien to have a look at your website as I believe I have run out of thoughts. It's still Xmas holiday so I don't know when he'll have time to look into it but we will do our best.

Patrick

Thank you so much for your time and suggestions.

I will send you the link/logins for the fresh install on a subdomain for you to investigate.

Enjoy the rest of holiday.

Hi Patrick,
Happy New Year.
I was wondering if you had had a chance to speak with Julian yet about the js errors I am experiencing with F2C .
