I was happily using Form2Content Pro version 6.13.0 with a custom template. I have now updated to the latest version and I get an error when I try to access the article manager or the form using my custom template:

0 Call to a member function get() on null.

I'm using Form2Content Pro version 6.17.4, and Joomla 3.9.2.

Thanks for sharing! I haven't had this updating issue but it might be because I have updated from 6.16 before 6.17 which has the major change.

I will add this info to the changelog and download section.

Hi Patrick,

This has worked. The problem was with the Content Type, which had only 3 (custom) fields and was missing all the joomla fields. So,

1) I generated a new Content Type
2) Assigned the custom templates to it

This worked on the back and front end to post fresh articles, but I couldn't open and edit old articles (generated with the old content type). So, this fixed it:

I went into the db tables and:
1) f2c_project > swapped around the CT ID and assets ID between the old and new content type
2) f2c_projectfields > changed all the joomla field IDs (generated by the new CT) to the old content type ID.
3) Opened new CT, syncronized articles
4) Batch refreshed articles

That let me open and edit articles created with the old CT.

All updated and fixed!

Hi Laura,

As with any override you will have to see what has changed. Version 6.17.x has new features and ordering possibilities so there will be changes in the template code. Follow these steps to resolve:

1) make a backup of your old custom template (or change default name)
2) Test with the normal F2C template that all works
3) Generate a new custom template via F2C and select it as custom
4) Copy your changes into the new custom template

Hope this helps,
Please read the F2C documentation before asking questions! Thank you if you've done so ;)
