Hi,
I just installed in a fresh Joomla
with almost no extensions (akeeba login guard & adminTools and form2Content)

I'm using the Protostar Template.

In the Backend everything works fine.
In the frontend I get an "TypeError: null is not an object (evaluating 'o.task')"-Error when I try to save my changes in a form of form2content.

Could please somebody help me?
Thanks a lot

Hi Frederic,

Can you add your version info.
Although there shouldn't be an error it seems you didn't connect your templates to the Content Type. You need to do this in the Content Type configuration (and any articles already created). I base this on your second image by the way.

Patrick

Hi Patrick,
thank You for your quick reply,
i changed what You said, but still the same error.

I would like to buy a license when I see that everything is working,
I clicked at the installation of Joomla on 'multilingual Joomla'
could that make the trouble?

Now I reinstalled Joomla and form2content and it is working,
I had the trouble with the access rights but as I found in your forum
https://forum.form2content.com/invalid-field-featured-and-state
did the same and now it is working, but this is an old issue, still there, making me a bit nervous

Thanks a lot,
Frederic

Hi Frederic,

We maintain and develop F2C in our own time. Since Joomla has been working on J4 we have started to create a new version too. The changes are many (and keep changing) and the documentation is limited. However we have an alpha version for Lite and Pro for J4. I have found that with the many J3 updates some permissions have changed. This has been annoying since they haven't been documented.

I will ask Julien to have a look at your error as I do believe the cause is different than the issue you refer to.

Patrick

Thank you for your reply.
I bought the software and it works
I like it and I want to solve my problems with it

Right now, there is only one point I did not understand,
I forgot to check but I need that badly
it is about preselecting the category.
I understood, that there are options in the contentfieldmanager.
I understood, that it is possible to make a menu to call an empty article form (f2c) with several options.
But that is all static.

Isn't it somehow possible to preselect the category,
depending on the category of the current shown page dynamically?

my situation:
My deepest category (in a tree) is a book-title
and I have about 200 books, each with its own category in the same parent-category.

If I am on the page of a book I like
and I want to write and f2c Article for that book
I CAN call the empty f2c form and I HAVE TO select the category out of 200

I need the category preselected from the Article-Category of that article where I call the f2c empty Article menu
for several reasons I have to make that with your tool

even If I think about using your database-lookup field
I get always to the point
that there seems to me no mechanism for dynamically prefiling some fields of an article
before I start to edit the article as an author

Is there any possibility,?

Thank You very much,
Frederic Espitalier
