Hello, I am considering this component as an option for a Network project to start with the new school year in September.

There will be a small number of people uploading articles, but the pages section can be viewed publicly. We want it to be easy for non-technical people to be able to upload words and images via the front end. It has to be simple for the network users (and me in the office!) and also look nice.
Could you give me your opinion please as to whether this is a good use for the software?

I noticed that neither of the softwares haven't been updated for about a year, and I wondered if you are no longer developing the software? Would you mind saying - my caution is that I don't especially want to learn another new software really, and would only be encouraged to do so if there is good support for a relative lay person (me) and that it is going to continue to be updated ... Thanks very much, Robin

Hi Robin,

It sounds like you can use Form2Content for this but I'n not sure what your experience is with Joomla? This is a so called CCK so you have to do a bit of "building" yourself.

As to updates, the product is stable but we have been working on a Joomla 4 release which is nearly ready (when Joomla stops changing stuf ;) )

Patrick

Hello Patrick -
My experience with Joomla - I can manage the site and components (e.g. customising the options to suit our needs.). I am not a techy though. If I have to write code from scratch I probably can't do it. What do you think. What kind of 'building' do I need to do?

Thanks, Robin

Hi Robin,

A fair understanding of html/css makes life easy... perhaps try installing the F2C Lite version with demo data and have a look at the templates. That gives you a good indication.

Patrick
