hi,

I use Form2Content Pro version 6.13.0 with Joomla 3.4.8
and the Form2Content Metadata Generator plugin

my issue is the content the Multi-line text (text area) inserts into the Joomla title field

everything looks fine when writing the text in my custom field but the title shows like this:
"Komm zum Wiener Unternehmerinnen Frühstück im März 2016!"
you can see the issue here http://unternehmer-netzwerk.wien/termine/34-b2b/3436-wuf97
that's a real pain :(

am I missing something or is this a bug?

best,
Claudia

Hi Claudia,

Try using {$< fieldname >_RAW}

(the option is described in our cheat-sheet).

no ideas??
never ever wanted anybody german words inserted in his title and had the same problem?

after spending days to setup everything sadly the plugin is of no use for me this way :( :(
and I really need to set a max. amount of characters in frontend forms for title & metadescription (truncating is not what we need)

any tip would be great

Hi Claudia,

Can you explain what the issue is? The German words or the max length?

Have you added two multi-line text fields with max-length setting and used the plugin to copy the field data into the title and meta description?

Patrick

Hi Patrick,
thanks for your reply :)

well both requirements go together: it is a german site and I have to restrict the users in the frontend to stay within a max. lenght of characters

I did exactly as you mentioned: set up two custom fields - one for title and one for medadescription as multi-line (text area) and this works perfectly so far

BUT: and here comes the issue - when the multi-line text goes into the original Joomla title and metadescription there are no longer any ä or ü or ö but only ü and ä (and so on)

I wouldn't mind that, if I it was only the frontend. I could use the custom field in the intro and hide the Joomla-title, but I need a proper RSS-Feed to use for automatic mailings and this way the title is shown twice :(

For now I have changed all Joomla-titles manually - this is a pain - and everytime a user chances his article or adds a news one the ü and ä are lost again.

Any conclusions to this matter will be highly appreciated - I am a big fan of F2C component in any other aspect :)

best,
Claudia

:) works like a charm <3

I studied the cheat sheet but did not get it in my head with the plugin ... obviously

Thanks a lot! I will consider to present F2C in one of our next Joomla usergroup meetings here in Vienna ;)

I had the same problem - an accented character didn't show in the article title - instead a &xxx (something) showed up. Using the {$< fieldname >_RAW} cured the problem.

Maybe add this to the documentation of F2C Metadata plugin?

The Smarty variable modifier capitalize doesn't handle accented characters well. It capitalizes this characters... Using {$< fieldname >_RAW} helps here too
