Hello!

I am using F2C Pro 6.15.0. I am regularly creating articles with pictures and for each picture, I have to add an explanatory text (caption). To do this, I use the Image Title field. Everything works OK, but there is a limit of characters in the image title field which in many cases limits me in what I write. I do not have this limit if I add the caption text using the native create article function form Joomla.

Is there any way to change the limit (number of characters or words) for the text I enter in the image title filed? If yes, where can I find it?

Thank you for all the help!

Best!

Hi Alexandru,

The general rule for image title length is 70 characters (Is what Google displays). It's possible to change the length via the database I believe but I don't know the sql statement for it. I would need to ask Julien.

Other option is to add a text field "image description". It can be as long as you like, use html etc. You can add it as mouseover or image title if you wish via the F2C template. For seo this would be better as you can add it as content rather than title.

Regards,
Patrick

Hi Alexandru,

Can you try the following:

In the Image field configuration fill the field Attributes alt text field or Attributes title field and give it a value of maxlength="200"

Does that work for you?

best,
Julien
