Hello Patrick and Julian

I installed Form2Content Related Authors plugin to Display other article data from the same author in a list.
I want to show all articles from category 28 by the same author.

I've created a Database Lookup fields (multi select) and insert sql query:

SELECT id, title
FROM bil_content
WHERE CatID IN (28) AND
state = 1
ORDER BY title ASC

In the template is inserted:

{If $ RELATED} <div style = "width: 100%">
{$} RELATED
</ Div>
{/ If}

In the article in frontend displays the correct ID, but I would like to have the title and be able to link to the article (109)
What do I do?

I have searched for an answer but can not find something I can use.

I am using Joomla 3.4.8 and 6.9.1 Form2Content Pro

Regards Ellen :-)

Hi Ellen,

A little more magic is needed ;)
Please read the documentation for the related articles plugin:
http://documentation.form2content.com/f2c-extensions/joomla-plugins/114-related-articles-in-joomla-using-form2content

You will notice that creating the relationship between the articles using the DB lookup field is just the first step.

Patrick

Hi Ellen,

Please add some more info on what it is you want to make. Maybe one of many modules available can also do the job (show articles from an author and limit by category).

Also read the plugin syntax you need to add in your template. This is documented in the plugin description.
The relationship is between the articles and authors. So the limitation to the category is like a filter which can be created in the (sub)template of the plugin.

Patrick

Hi Patrick.

You explain it as well, but I am so stupid that I do not understand it. :-D

As you see, now the user are allowed to select the articles he want to be displayed below his new article. (Img1)

In the front end, when you read the article, the articles he selected have to be displayed as clickable titles.(img2)

I can send you login, if you want to see it .

Ellen

Hi Ellen,

As per your last description you do not need the related authors plugin but the RELATED ARTICLES plugin!!
The relationship you want is created by the DB Lookup field and NOT the Author!

So this article describes how to do it:
http://documentation.form2content.com/f2c-extensions/joomla-plugins/114-related-articles-in-joomla-using-form2content

However, if you ONLY need a title with link you can use the plugin Articles Anywhere from NoNumber and the ARRAY output of the database lookup field.

Basically you define a set of article ID'd (using the field you have already) and use the plugin to visualise the links to those articles.
Please see this article for more information.
http://documentation.form2content.com/f2c-tips-and-tricks/f2c-plugin-examples/85-related-articles-using-f2c-nonumber-articles-anywhere

Patrick
