Hello

I've installed the F2C Metadata plugin, followed the steps in the documentation (here: http://documentation.form2content.com/f2c-extensions/joomla-plugins/87-f2c-metadata-plugin ).

Now I can't get the templates to do anything.
I want the title of any new articles to become the {$LAST_NAME} field.
I added this field to the title_contenttype_myContentType.tpl but nothing shows up when an article is created. Just the normal default title we set in the settings.

Am i doing anything wrong? Do i need more in the template file?
Or is there another setting I need to change?
The plugin is activated, so that should be working.

Thanks
Aaron

HI Aaron,

ID is not a NAME but a NUMBER.

Example: title_contenttype_3.tpl

Patrick

Hi Aaron,

This is not clear for me: "Now I can't get the templates to do anything."

"I want the title of any new articles to become the {$LAST_NAME} field."

1) create the title template (title_contenttype_X.tpl) where x is your content type ID in media/com_form2content/templates.
2) In the content type configuration set show title to NO
3) Set default title to "default"
4) In the title template add {$LAST_NAME}
5) Publish the plugin and refresh the article(s)

Patrick

Hey Patrick

I did all those steps.
My template is title_contenttype_LambtonStories.tpl
(LambtonStories is my content type)

In the template is just {$LAST_NAME}

The plugin is active. Title on Front End is set to No. Default value is default.

Re-saved an existing article and nothing changed. Filled out a new form which created a new article and nothing changed. I also have "Create New Alias" checked as Yes in the plugin's settings.

So somewhere in the process it seems to not fully connect. Beyond publishing the plugin, I can't tell if the plugin itself is working...

I also tested this by making a description and keywords template, and neither work as well.

Not sure where to go from here.

Thanks
Aaron

Yep that would make sense, and now works. Thanks for sticking by us with this! :)
