I downloaded a copy made by v5.5.2. Tried to upload into a new site. v5.5.1! Updated new site to v5.6.0 and tried to upload again - this time I got:

0 Call to a member function get() on null

Updated existing (old) site to 5.6.0. Now I get a 500 error trying to export! :-) Just not my day!!!

Hi Ian,

Can you please send me an Akeeba back-up of the site with the problem (both import and export sites?).
If you could give me a detailed description of the problem (where to import and export which files), then I can dive into this issue!

You can send the back-up to julien at opensourcedesign dot nl

best,
Julien

Couldn't add the backups here - your file upload size is too small. You can get them here off Dropbox - https://www.dropbox.com/l/scl/AAAxMc2N_e_yF_vGxq0MMNT-ngCPoULhCU0

Here's how to reproduce the issue. Components-->F2C-->Content Type Manager. Click Export at the far right end.

Go to the new site, and go through the same process, but, this time, choose a file (the one just exported), then click "Upload". That's where I got the error.

Hi Ian,

I fixed the export on your site.

Here's the technical explanation why it didn't work:

The export function uses some XML helper classes, one is called addCData and looks like this:
public function addCData(string $cdata)

In this function I use 'type hinting', that's why it says string $cdata instead of just $cdata.
But this mechanism doesn't work until PHP7 and you are running PHP 5.6.
I removed the type hint and it's working now.

best,
Julien
