I understand this is for most a very simple question and I'm sure many aside Patrick can answer.

But I have done hours of googling about html and CSS without being able to solve my problem.

I have a multiline text area in one of my forms and would like to change the height and width of the input area.

This is the template generated by F2C:

<div class="f2c_button_bar">
{$F2C_BUTTON_APPLY}{$F2C_BUTTON_SAVE}{$F2C_BUTTON_SAVE_AND_NEW}{$F2C_BUTTON_SAVE_AS_COPY}{$F2C_BUTTON_CANCEL}
</div>
<div class="clearfix"></div><div class="row-fluid form-horizontal">
<div class="control-group f2c_field f2c_title">
<div class="control-label f2c_field_label">{$F2C_TITLE_CAPTION}</div>
<div class="controls f2c_field_value">{$F2C_TITLE}</div>
</div>
<div class="control-group f2c_field f2c_MY_DOG">
<div class="control-label f2c_field_label">{$MY_DOG_CAPTION}</div>
<div class="controls f2c_field_value">{$MY_DOG}</div>
</div> <div class="control-group f2c_field f2c_MY_STORY">
<div class="control-label f2c_field_label">{$MY_STORY_CAPTION}</div>

<div class="controls f2c_field_value">{$MY_STORY}" </div>
</div></div><div class="clearfix"></div>
<div class="f2c_button_bar">
{$F2C_BUTTON_APPLY}{$F2C_BUTTON_SAVE}{$F2C_BUTTON_SAVE_AND_NEW}{$F2C_BUTTON_SAVE_AS_COPY}{$F2C_BUTTON_CANCEL}
</div>
<div class="clearfix"></div>

The field I would like to format (width and height) for input is MY_STORY.

I have tried many methods and have to admit I have no clue even where to look!

Many thanks for the help

Francois

Just forgot to add: I noticed that there's an attributes field for the my_story field created in the content type, but no matter what I write there it either has no effect or actually shortens the width of the field in the submission form.

I tried: style="width=500"
width=500
style="width=100%"
and many other variations to no avail.

Hi Francois,

Try:

style="width:100%;height:50px;" placeholder="Please write here ;)"

Enjoy!

Thank you Patrick, I was going crazy with this!

Just so I know for next time, what is that? CSS? HTML?

In other words, I need to know which syntax to use.

this is your basic (inline) css. you can add it to your HTML markup.

I have to admit to be a little surprised since using Form2Content (or nay other CCK for that matter) does require a basic knowledge of html/css.

But anyway, good luck!
